New businesses
Alux do Brasil
In November 2021 CBA announced its acquisition of 80% of Alux do Brasil, one of Brazil’s top producers of secondary aluminum. This will expand our recycling capacity and create synergies with our Metalex operation.
Energy Business
To strengthen our position as a self-generator, we announced the creation of a new business unit to manage our 15 wholly-owned hydropower plants and 6 joint-venture plants, which were previously managed by Votorantim Energia.
Wind farms
With a goal of diversifying our energy mix, CBA announced investments in two wind farms —Ventos de Santo Anselmo and Ventos de Santo Isidoro—in the states of Pernambuco, Piauí and Ceará. The two wind farms should begin supplying power in 2023, in another initiative supporting our future growth.
